DECEMBER 20TH, 2023

We were delighted to welcome many of our Authorised Automist Installers to Wolverhampton recently for our annual Installer Conference & Best Practice Awards.

Following presentations from members of the Plumis team and some interactive workshop sessions, we came together to recognise our installer's efforts and celebrate some of their achievements over the past year in our awards ceremony.

We can now reveal the winners and runners up for each of the ten categories.

Best Private Residential ProjectElectrical Solutions North East
Runners up: M C Fire Protection and Fire Mist

Our installers in the North East, Electrical Solutions, scooped the first award of the evening for their excellent Ouseburn Quays project, a luxury block of flats in Newcastle which required suppression in order to achieve building control sign off due to its height.

Installers M C Fire Protection and Fire Mist were also both close runners up with their projects in Bath and Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

Best Social/Sheltered Housing ProjectEurotec Safety Services
Runner up: Ventro Group

Eurotec Safety Services who have been spreading awareness in the social housing sector, picked up this award to recognise their work with housing trusts in Northern Ireland. Honourable mention goes to Ventro Group for an installation in a large retirement complex in Surrey where Automist was used to give the residents extra protection.

Best Heritage ProjectM C Fire Protection
Runner up: Mistek

Instantly recognisable, Bath's Royal Cresent is one of the city's most iconic landmarks. M C Fire Protection took home this award for an installation in one of the Grade II listed Georgian era properties that was being converted from separate flats into one dwelling. The project was also recently a finalist in the Security and Fire Excellence Awards, having been nominated for 'Active Fire Project of the Year.'

Mistek came in a close second for potentially the oldest building Automist has even been installed in, Dover's Town Hall which is undergoing renovation works before opening to the public.

Specialist Project of the YearFire Mist
Runners up: Blue Light Safety and Intelligent Mist

Fire Mist were winners in the specialist category for their work on a well-known historic windmill situated in the heart of Sleaford, Lincolnshire which was undergoing refurbishment. The project also featured a sim card communicator integrated into the Automist system to ensured that relevant parties would be promptly informed in the event of a fire, enhancing the safety and response capabilities.

Our runners up Blue Light Safety and Intelligent Mist also deserve recognition for their specialist projects. Automist was installed in a building set to house ferry passengers on the Isle of Mull in the Scottish Hebrides, possibly a candidate for the remotest Automist installation!

Intelligent Mist were also worthy runners up for their work on a rather unusual but stunning custom build project, a home in the shape of a Viking ship. The installation required sprayheads fitted on a variety of wall finishes including cork and curved timber - all to superb effect.

Case Study of the YearMistek

A new award for 2023, Mistek were selected for their excellent video case study of an Automist project in the Isle of Wight, complete with customer testimonials and a timelapse of the installation itself. You can watch the full video over on Mistek's Youtube channel.
