Why doesn’t Automist use a ceiling-mounted thermally activated glass bulb?
Fire sprinklers have remained fundamentally unchanged since they were invented in the 19th Century. However, for over 20 years, the fire industry have been calling for a different design. We developed Automist because we believed they could be better: detect fire earlier, activate faster and deliver better outcomes for people and property. Users of standards may justify the substitution of any of the recommendations in a code of practice with practices of equivalent or better outcomes. Automist uses thermal sensing and an intelligent algorithm to detect a fire. It can operate much faster than a conventional fire sprinkler. Every second counts, particularly when protecting those who can not escape unaided.
